After a rainfall warning the day before, the sun came out and the day was beyond perfect for Lindsay and Dana’s romantic Canmore Mountain Wedding. Both the girls and the guys got ready at the Blackstone Mountain Lodge and it was perfect. The girls had the penthouse suite, which was the perfect spot for getting ready - it had fantastic light, a beautiful view, and was incredibly spacious. We were able to set a first look up for the bridesmaids and the father of the bride, which are beautiful moments this bride gets to hold on to forever.
The ceremony at the Canmore Ranch had the jaw-dropping backdrop of the mountains and the sun peeked out just as the ceremony was wrapping up. One of my favourite images from the ceremony is the shot I got of their hands looking up at them. Having two photographers allows us to try some more creative images. While I was getting that shot, Jared was covering from a traditional angle to ensure we didn’t miss anything.
For bridal portraits we of course went to the Canmore Engine Bridge to start, which never disappoints. It was a great spot to do some full bridal party photos as well as some of just the bride and the groom. We then started the journey up to Spray Lakes to beat out the crowds and get some gorgeous shots of the bride and groom with that beautiful turquoise water the Rocky Mountains are famous for. Our last stop was at the Quarry Lake Dog Park, when we drove passed it I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful meadow and stunning mountain backdrop. I mentioned the spot to Lindsay and asked if she was okay that it was a dog park - this sparked laughter from the whole group, everyone chiming in that is the perfect spot for a dog lover like Lindsay. And boy was it the perfect spot, the girls immediately were calling and petting all the dogs. This led me to probably my favourite shot of the day, which has the girls all knelt down with the dogs when a ball was thrown and all the dogs took off to chase it.
Last but certainly not least they finished off their romantic wedding in the mountains at Cornerstone Theatre. The decor was timeless and so romantic. From the beautiful greenery and white roses to all of the pillar candles, it all was truly breathtaking. The speeches were joyful, heartfelt, and stirred all the emotion. The food was to die for and the dance was fantastic. Jared ended the night by setting up an off camera flash silhouette shot up in the balcony of the Cornerstone Theatre that still has me in awe.
Congratulations Lindsay and Dana! Thank you so much for including us in your big day.
