Hi we are Kelsey and Jared the faces behind K plus J Photography!

We are basically your friends with cameras making you feel comfortable and confident on your day to get the real moments you deserve.

So how did you meet?

Our story starts by meeting Stampede Round Up 2010 (John Forgerty and Gretchen Wilson were playing). Jared still argues that he caught me checking him out but the truth is I caught him checking me out. After selling my $9.99 cowboy hat for $50.00 to some random person I had one of Jared’s friends approaching me and asking me to wear a “Jared” name tag as it would be “funny”. This meant Jared coming up to me to get his name tag back, and a beer and a great conversation about travelling and scuba diving. We dated for about a year before getting engaged, then married two years after that.

Our wedding still is one of my favourite days. We had the ceremony on Jared’s family farm then the reception in a little town called Rosebud (known for its dinner theatre). The power ended up going our just after our dinner was served but in a stroke of luck we had some battery operated lanterns for decorations. Then the dinner theatre’s power was out and they heard about our wedding and that the venue was working on getting a generate for the DJ so they sent over some of the musicians to play/sing our first dance. It was absolutely amazing and I guarantee you a wedding none of the guest will forget.

Fun facts about Kelsey

I love late 90’s and early 2000 music from rap to pop I love it all.

Running is my favourite form of exercise but I am also now taking both downhill and Nordic ski lessons.

I am originally from Sechelt B.C. close to Gibsons B.C. who’s claim to fame was the Beachcombers TV show.
I looooooooove animals so much, (think Darla in Finding Nemo who is so excited she shakes the bags of fishes) most cats steer clear of me but dogs always love me.
I am a Dive Master in Scuba Diving and have dove in 11 different countries. I got my Dive Master on Gili Trawangan in Indonesia and it is still one of my favourite dive locations.

Fun facts about Jared

You can find me playing or enjoying most sports but my favourite is hockey.

Some of my favourite food and drinks are good coffee, sushi and good BBQ.
I grew up on a farm and went to the same school from K-12. My grad class was nine kids.
I have had a career in Renewable Energy for over 15 years.
I love travelling and seeing new places.
